An exciting opportunity has arisen for an Inspector to join the Precision Machining Facility (PMF) team to support the manufacturing of Turbine Blades. The team are focussed on the inspection of Turbine Blade’s, their manufacturing processes and associated documentation.
We are at the cutting edge of civil aviation, developing the next generation of sustainable travel, whether that be through insertion of enhancements to our current engine offerings, revolutionary technology demonstrator programmes or exploring how we can utilise emerging technologies.
What you will be doing:
As a Level 2 Inspector, you will be part of a highly skilled team manufacturing and inspecting components required to support manufacturing operations within Rolls-Royce. There will be a strong emphasis on utilising new technologies as well as maintaining our current capabilities; processes include, but are not limited to, Weigh, Visual Inspection, Modification, Hole Block, Coating and documentation Inspection. Applying appropriate Health and Safety practice and maintaining a safe environment at all times is vital and working as part of an integrated flexible team to achieving targets is critical to our success. Responsibilities also include:
- Interpret and work to manufacturing drawings, technical instructions, and written specifications to deliver a consistent, high-quality service across a variety of different components and product families.
- Conduct inspection operations on machined components to establish if they meet the required standards, definitions, and specifications.
- Participate in the continual review of processes within the business in the interest of continuous improvement and identifying best practices.
- Have the ability to quality check own work and complete relevant documentation accurately.
- Work within a team to effectively resolve quality issues and ensure your work is being completed to deadlines.
Preferred requirements:
- Previous experience of Aerospace NDT practices is essential.
- Previous approval to Level 2 EN4179/NAS410 or Level 2 PCN Aerospace will be preferable.
- Experience of HS&E is preferable.
- Attention to detail.
- Flexible to cover a variety of jobs within the team with often changing priorities.
- Ability to learn new skills & jobs quickly.
