Position Summary
We are looking for a highly capable and driven Quality Manager to join our PowerGen APAC (SPT) team. This role leads customer quality processes, drives product safety governance, ensures project quality compliance, and partners with internal teams and suppliers to maintain the highest standards of quality for engineered-to-order (ETO) solutions.
The Quality Manager plays a key part in improving customer satisfaction, reducing reportable quality cases, and ensuring product readiness for delivery across APAC. This position requires a hands-on, resourceful quality professional who can manage multiple priorities, engage stakeholders across the region, and represent the organization confidently in customer-facing situations.
What you will be doing:
1. General Quality Management
- Lead all customer quality processes to meet and exceed established customer quality baselines.
- Conduct and lead product quality analyses including DFMEA , PFMEA , DPU , and other problem-solving methodologies.
- Attend and lead customer quality meetings, addressing all quality-related topics promptly and effectively.
- Track all quality issues reported by customer accounts, identify repeat issues, and initiate investigations together with the engineering and project teams.
- Track and follow up on all Root Cause Analysis (RCA) activities; ensure RCAs are completed within agreed timelines.
- Understand customer-specific quality processes and ensure these are implemented within projects.
- Keep customers fully informed of ongoing quality topics, actions, and progress.
- Support pre-sales activities by reviewing quality requirements, identifying risks, and providing quality-related recommendations.
- Lead Product Safety Assessments to ensure products meet company and regulatory safety standards.
- Present insights, metrics, and lessons learned relating to quality and product safety to customers.
- Maintain proper documentation of all quality assessments, safety assessments, and issue logs.
2. Working with Internal Stakeholders & Suppliers
- Investigate regional quality issues and collaborate with Engineering, Execution, Field Service, and other stakeholders to resolve them.
- Collaborate with the Quality Engineer to ensure all project quality activities align with internal and customer standards.
- Work with regional quality teams to stay updated on emerging quality issues and proactively mitigate project risks.
- Drive suppliers and contractors to align with company quality requirements, ensuring adherence to specifications and standards.
- Present internal lessons learned, findings, and product safety insights to internal stakeholders to improve organizational knowledge and performance.
3. Other Responsibilities
- Travel overseas for business needs when required.
- Stay updated on quality management best practices, customer quality expectations, and industry standards.
- Undertake special assignments as directed by the Vice President, PSB Engineering & Execution APAC.
Position requirements:
Essential
- Degree in Engineering, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, or related discipline.
- Minimum 7–10 years of experience in Quality Management, Quality Assurance, or Quality Engineering within industrial, manufacturing, marine, heavy equipment, or power systems environments.
- Experience in the diesel engine , generator , or backup power/data centre power systems industry is an added advantage.
- Strong knowledge of ISO 9001, audit processes, and QMS requirements.
- Competent in problem-solving and quality tools (8D, RCA, FMEA, CAPA, statistical methods).
- Experience handling customer quality cases and driving formal issue-resolution processes.
- Ability to collaborate across functions and communicate clearly with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong documentation, governance, and process-control skills.
Preferred
- Experience in power systems, rotating equipment, diesel/gas engines, mtu products, or similar complex engineered systems.
- Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or equivalent certification.
- Experience in supplier quality or project quality for engineered-to-order systems.
- Exposure to high-mix, low-volume manufacturing environments.

- Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to interface effectively with both internal teams and customers.
- Demonstrated ability to understand Asian cultural nuances and navigate conflicts professionally.
- Able to manage high-stress, time-sensitive quality topics with accountability and composure.
- Highly resourceful, proactive, and able to multi-task across multiple simultaneous topics.
- Always up to date with project progress and able to track issues systematically.
- Willingness to travel within the region as required.
